Kurokirishima — the name that made imo shochu a national drink.
Kirishima Shuzo, founded in 1916 in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, is the maker of Kurokirishima and Akakirishima — sweet-potato shochus so ubiquitous they define the category, with nationwide reach built on total attention to ingredients: the potatoes, the water and the koji. The Kirishima Factory Garden complex offers factory tours, a restaurant and a shop.
