Makino Shuzo's 333rd-year challenge — unfiltered craft whisky.
Kurabuchi Distillery in Takasaki, Gunma, was launched by the sake brewer Makino Shuzo as the challenge of its 333rd year, starting full operation in 2023. The house pursues an original unfiltered production method for a spirit rich in umami, and also blends its whisky with a spirit distilled from sake lees.
