A Tomioka-area brewery with 17 national gold medals now experimenting with a low-alcohol local-rice sake.
Founded in 1872 in Kanra, Gunma, near Tomioka, Seitoku Meijo has collected 17 gold medals at Japan's National New Sake Awards under its Houou Seitoku label. The brewery keeps developing new products alongside its classics, including SEITOKU enishi, a lower-alcohol sake made entirely from Kanra-grown Hitomebore rice polished to 60%.
