Since 1875 — 太田市, Gunma
A 150-year-old kura on the old Nikko pilgrimage road — with a café for those who don't drink.
Yamazaki Shuzo was founded in 1875 by a toji from Echigo (Niigata), on the site of the old Kizaki post station along the Nikko Reiheishi road in Ota, Gunma. Now about 150 years old, the house brews several labels rooted in local history — including Nihon Homare and Taiheiki no Sato — and runs the 24 Sekki Café inside the kura, under its motto of a brewery even non-drinkers can enjoy.
