The Story of 濵田酒造

Hamada Shuzo has distilled shochu in Ichikikushikino, Kagoshima, since 1868, and today runs three distinct cellars under one roof: Denbei-gura for tradition, Denzoin-gura for innovation, and Kinzan-gura for heritage. Kinzan-gura is unique in Kagoshima, a shochu cellar built inside a former underground mine tunnel, toured by trolley on weekends and holidays with a tasting course. At Denbei-gura, reserved tours run twice daily on weekdays, lasting about 40 minutes and including a tasting, alongside a shop selling the house's imo (sweet potato) shochu, including its Kaido label.
