赤兎馬
Since 1868 — いちき串木野市, Kagoshima
A Satsuma shochu house near Kushikino whose Sekitoba brand has become one of imo-jozo's most sought-after names.
Founded in 1868 in Ichikikushikino, Kagoshima, Hamada Shuzo distills Sekitoba, one of the most sought-after brands of Satsuma imo-jozo — sweet-potato shochu from the Satsuma region. Visitors can tour two of the brewery's facilities, Denbei-gura and Satsuma Kinzan-gura, both by reservation and both charging a small tasting or admission fee; the latter also runs a mine-cart tram on weekends. Both sites include retail shops for sampling and buying directly from the source.
