Barley shochu on the water-god's ground of Usa, since 1789.
Kubo Shuzo, founded in 1789, has made barley shochu in Usa, Oita, for over two hundred years — its kura once stood in the grounds of a Kifune shrine, a place of the water god. The hand-made range runs wide: white koji, black koji and oak-cask-aged expressions. Tours by reservation for up to twenty, 9:00–16:00.
