Founded in 1826, Kuncho Shuzo stands in Mameda-machi, the merchant quarter of Hita in Oita known as a little Kyoto and set among the town's waterways. It brews with Hita's spring water, and alongside the brewing it runs a sake museum, a cafe and a gallery in the kura.
