The Story of 大地酒造

Oochi Shuzo was founded in 1885 in Saeki, Oita's southernmost city, as purveyor of sake to the town's ruling Mori clan. Facing a succession crisis and the threat of closure, the brewery was taken over in 2019 by a pair of locally born brothers, who set the theme 'a gently aromatic, deeply flavorful food-pairing sake' for its flagship, Hanawarami. The new chapter for Oochi Shuzo is still being written.
