The Saitama production site of Hyogo's Hinode Mirin maker, where a 14%-ABV futsushu called 'Ogre Killer' rounds out a 120-year-old condiment business.
This Hanyu plant is the Saitama production base of King Jozo, the maker best known for Hinode Mirin. Founded in 1900 by Inosuke Onishi, King Jozo began making 'Hinode Shiro Mirin' the following year and is now the core company of the Hinode Holdings group, headquartered in Inami, Hyogo. At the Hanyu site the flagship product is Enman Kazoku Onigoroshi ('Harmonious Family Ogre Killer'), a 14%-ABV futsushu (regular-grade sake). The plant is not open to public tours.
