An Ageo brewery whose Bunraku label recently won gold at the IWC 2026.
Kitanishi Shuzo was founded in 1897 in Ageo, Saitama, and is now led by fifth-generation brewer-owner Ryuichiro Kitanishi. The kura brews under the Bunraku label, which has built an extensive record of awards, including a Gold Medal at the IWC (International Wine Challenge) 2026 for its "Bunraku Reborn" Junmai Ginjo. Alongside its core lineup, Kitanishi releases a rotating set of seasonal Bunraku bottlings, such as Suzunagi, Hanakagari and Saeyuki.
