Fuji Gotemba Distillery, opened in 1973 in Gotemba, is Kirin's only whisky distillery, blessed with Mt. Fuji's subsoil water and the cool climate at the mountain's foot. Rare among distilleries, it makes both malt and grain whisky and carries everything from mashing to bottling on one site, bottled as Fuji. Paid tours end with a tasting.
