Since 1820 — 朝倉市, Fukuoka
An Asakura house built on two pillars — the century-old Kunigiku label and revived sake brand Hiramatsu — best known for an amazake that ships 200 million bottles a year.
Shinozaki was founded around 1820 in Hiramatsu village (today's Asakura), in the former Chikuzen province. The house rests on two pillars: Kunigiku, a tradition over a century old, and Hiramatsu, a sake brand it revived. Its flagship product, Kunigiku Amazake, is saccharified from nothing but rice and rice koji, with no additives or preservatives, and ships roughly 200 million bottles a year nationwide. Alongside sake, Shinozaki also distills shochu and even a craft gin, Jin40-Asakura Craft Gin, made with Asakura-grown botanicals.
