Fukuta Jozo is said to have been founded in 1688 in Fu-nai-cho, in the Hyogo castle town of Miki. Its representative label, Fukunofutori, is documented in third-party sake sources, though the brewery does not currently maintain an official website. The kura sits about a three-minute walk from Kobe Electric Railway's Miki-Kaminomaru Station.
