Hagino Shuzo has brewed since 1840 amid the rural landscape of Kurihara in northern Miyagi. Its core labels, Hagino Tsuru and Hinowada, are known for a soft, easy-drinking character that doesn't tire the palate. The kura has also built a following for its playful seasonal releases in the "cat series" -- bottlings like Sakura Neko and Kotatsu Neko -- pairing tradition with a sense of fun.
