Four Miyagi breweries joined forces in 1973 — then invented sparkling sake for a new generation.
Ichinokura was born in 1973, when four breweries in Miyagi merged to pursue one ideal: hand-crafted sake. From good rice, good water and traditional technique came bottles that reshaped the market — most famously Suzune, the pioneering sparkling sake, and Himezen, a gentle low-alcohol style. The brewery in Osaki welcomes visitors with tours and the adjoining Matsuyama Sake Museum.
