In Shinonoi, Nagano, a brewery whose kura and storehouses are registered cultural properties, drawing water from the Sai River.
Higashiiida Shuzoten has stood in Shinonoi, Nagano City since 1865. Its brewing hall, earthen storehouse, pickling warehouse and guest room are all registered as national Tangible Cultural Properties. The house draws mineral-rich spring water fed by the Sai River and uses locally grown rice to brew its Motooi no Matsu line, from the everyday Junmai to the flagship Daiginjo.
