A thatched-roof kura on the old Hokkoku road, with soba served inside.
Sakai Meijo was founded around 1760 at the Shimotogura post station on the Hokkoku highway in Chikuma, Nagano — its thatched main house dates from that era. The kura holds a large collection of materials on the artist Takehisa Yumeji, displays its brewing collection to visitors, and serves soba at the Kaya restaurant inside the brewery.
