菊泉
Since 1863 — 深谷市, Saitama
Kikuizumi — clean-cutting table sake under a 20-metre brick chimney.
Takizawa Shuzo was founded in 1863 in Ogawa and moved in 1900 to Fukaya on the old Nakasendo highway, where its brick chimney — over twenty metres tall — still marks the kura. The sixth-generation owner doubles as toji, brewing crisp, clean sake for the table from Arakawa-system groundwater and mainly Saitama-grown Sake Musashi rice, with a string of prizes at home and abroad. Its Kikuizumi Hitosuji is a bottle-fermented sparkling sake. Tours and brewing experiences by reservation.
