紀土
Since 1928 — 海南市, Wakayama
A Kainan kura where KID sake shares tank space with craft beer and umeshu, brewed by a young team.
Heiwa Shuzo has brewed in Kainan, Wakayama since 1928. Beyond its KID sake (written 紀土, from the old Kii provincial name plus 'earth'), the kura also produces Tsurume plum liqueur (umeshu) and Heiwa Craft beer, extending its fermentation work well past rice. A young generation of brewers has built KID's following among newer sake drinkers, and the company runs several of its own retail shops. For hygiene reasons, it does not offer public tours or a standing tasting counter.
