出羽ノ雪
Since 1615 — 鶴岡市, Yamagata
An 18th-generation Tsuruoka kura tracing back to the Genna era, unified under the Dewanoyuki name in the Taisho era.
Watarai Honten was founded in the Genna era (1615-1624) in Tsuruoka, Yamagata, and is now led by its 18th-generation head — among the longest lineages of any brewery in the prefecture. The name Dewanoyuki was adopted during the Taisho era (1912-1926). The kura brews with its own house yeast strains and a range of sake rice varieties, drawing pure water from the Gassan-Asahi mountain system, and is known for the variety of its sake styles.
