Onna Joshu — sake of the castle town ruled by a female lord.
Iwamura Jozo was founded in 1787 in the castle town of Iwamura, Gifu, and has brewed for more than 230 years amid its preserved streetscape. Its flagship Onna Joshu ("female castle lord") honours Lady Otsuya, who ruled Iwamura Castle — a sake that carries the town's history in its name. Tours are available; the kura is about 20 minutes by car from the Ena interchange.
