The Seto Inland Sea kura that pioneered kijoshu — sake brewed with sake instead of water.
Founded in 1906 in Ondo, on Kure's stretch of the Seto Inland Sea, Enoki Shuzo is known as the first Japanese brewery to commercialize kijoshu, a dessert-like sake mashed with sake in place of water. The result is famously rich and sweet. In 2023, a ten-year-aged kijoshu from the house was served at the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
