A Hiroshima kura on the Ota River whose seventh-generation brewer keeps winning gold at France's Kura Master.
Founded in 1865 in Hiroshima's Asakita ward, Kyokuhou draws its brewing water from the combined flow of the Ota and Nenotani rivers. Seventh-generation owner Yohei Hamura oversees brewing with Yamada Nishiki and Omachi rice, producing daiginjo, ginjo and junmai sake. The house has won back-to-back gold medals at France's Kura Master competition, in 2019 and 2020.
