A Kurose brewery that returned to handcraft in 2003 and has won gold eight times in the decade since.
Kamokin was founded in 1880 in the Kurose district of Higashihiroshima. In 2003, toji and president Kanamitsu Hideki shifted the kura back to handcraft brewing and launched the Kamokinshu label under the idea of a taste that stays with you. All of the rice is domestically grown, with more than 80% from Hiroshima Prefecture, and every batch of koji rice comes from certified sake varieties. Over the past decade the brewery has won gold at the National New Sake Awards eight times.
