The Story of 狩場一酒造

Kariba-Ichi Shuzo was founded in 1916 in Tamba-Sasayama as Kikko Fuji Jozo, taking the Shugetsu name in 1957. In the Tamba toji tradition, it brews junmai sake from rice and koji alone — growing its own Yamada Nishiki since 1996 and, since 2002, polishing every product to 60%. Its 15-year aged sake pours amber with a sherry-like nose. The Shugetsu-an direct shop, opened in 1991, serves visitors.
