Since 1868 — 名張市, Mie
A 600-koku brewery below the Akame Forty-Eight Falls, made by nine craftsmen for the drinker who wants a hundred cups.
Takijiman Shuzo has brewed at the foot of the Akame Forty-Eight Falls in Nabari, Mie, since 1868, using spring water recognized among the Heisei-era 100 Famous Waters. Output stays small — around 600 koku (roughly 108,000 liters) a year — made by hand by a team of nine. The house motto sums up its approach: better a sake that makes one person want a hundred cups than one a hundred people drink once. That care has been recognized with IWC gold medals in 2014, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2025.
