The Story of 相傳商店

Aiden Shoten was founded in 1821 by Denbei Aihara in Iwanuma, a town that once thrived as a post station on the Oshu Kaido highway. Its flagship, Natori Koma, takes its name from the old Natori district — long known as horse country — and its proximity to Takekoma Shrine, one of Japan's three great Inari shrines and a site closely tied to horses. Beyond sake, the house also makes takuan pickled radish using its own sake lees, a side dish that has been sold alongside ekiben train bento since Iwanuma Station opened in 1897.
