Osaka's oldest hand-brewing house, in an Edo-period timber kura listed as a cultural property.
Founded in 1716 in Hannan, Naniwa Shuzo is the oldest hand-brewing sake house in Osaka Prefecture. Its Edo-period timber kura and residence are a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. The brewery has kept deliberately clear of mechanisation and computer control, holding to hand work and aiming at sake that leaves the drinker spiritually richer.
