A Sakai kura founded in 1948, still hand-crafting sake in small batches in the old castle town.
Rikyu Gura was founded in 1948 in the Kaicho district of Sakai, a city famed for centuries of traditional craftsmanship. The brewery carries that legacy into its sake, keeping to small-batch, hand-made brewing. Its flagship label, Sen no Rikyu, is named for the great tea master born in Sakai, and the house has also picked up awards at several international competitions for its matcha liqueur line, Myōcha.
