The Shiga house entrusted with the white and black sake offered at the imperial harvest rite.
Founded in 1831 in Aisho, Shiga, Fujii Honke holds a rare charge: it is the brewery that respectfully brews the shiroki and kuroki — the white and black sake presented at Niinamesai, the imperial harvest thanksgiving rite. Its Taisho-era kura is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, and the brewery welcomes visitors for tours, with a dining room, 隠蔵, on the premises.
