Japan's organic sake pioneer — and a Mazer Cup Best of Show for its mead.
Tentaka Shuzo, founded in 1914 in Otawara, Tochigi, is the pioneer of organic sake in Japan, JAS-certified since 2005 and decorated at the IWC, Kura Master and SAKE Selection. It runs its own Tentaka Organic Farm and plans to brew almost entirely from Tochigi rice by 2029. In 2022 its mead took Best of Show at the Mazer Cup in the US — a first for Japan.
