A Wakayama City kura named by statesman Okuma Shigenobu, its flagship sake honoring naturalist Minakata Kumagusu.
Sekai Itto was founded in 1884 in Wakayama City; its name — meaning roughly 'one unified world' — was coined by the Meiji-era statesman Okuma Shigenobu. The kura is linked to the family home of Minakata Kumagusu, the pioneering naturalist and folklorist, and its flagship sake, Minakata, is named in his honor. That sake, a Junmai Daiginjo, won gold at the 2013 National New Sake Awards, and the range continues through a Junmai Ginjo and a notably dry Tokubetsu Junmai.
