Since 1880 — 長井市, Yamagata
A Nagai brewery whose Asataki label takes its name from the waterfall-lined mountain that feeds its brewing water.
Founded in 1880 in Nagai, Yamagata, Terashima Shuzo brews with clear underground water from the Nogawa river, fed by the Asahi mountain range. Its Asataki label takes its name from nearby Mt. Asahidake and the waterfalls scattered around the area. The brewery also conducts its own research into aged sake, or koshu.
