Since 1886 — 豊田市, Aichi
A Toyota kura that took its name from a sacred rock on Mt. Sanage when it opened in 1886.
Urano was founded in 1886 in what was then Sanage village, in Toyota, Aichi, taking the name Kikuishi from Sanage Shrine — honoring a natural rock formation on the sacred Mt. Sanage nearby. The kura has kept to hand-made brewing for roughly 140 years and has won gold medals at the National New Sake Awards in multiple years, including 2013.
