Founded in 1886 in Yokote, Akita, Azakura Shuzo draws on the prefecture's sake-brewing rice to craft well-balanced junmai sake. The brewery has built a loyal following among local-sake fans nationwide, prized as much for its quality as for its value. Visitors can taste and buy directly at the brewery's shop, which also carries fresh, unpasteurized sake during the new-sake season.
