The Story of 千歳盛酒造

Chitosezakari was founded in 1882 in Kazuno, Akita, in a region of brutal winters and clean mountain water. The house took its current name — meaning "a thousand years of prosperity" — when it rebranded in 1922, and it still matures sake inside a converted mine tunnel, using the tunnel's constant cool temperature in place of mechanical refrigeration. The lineup ranges from everyday sake to more polished labels, brewed with quality rice suited to Kazuno's harsh climate.
