腰古井
Since 1872 — 勝浦市, Chiba
A Katsuura kura where a Nanbu toji still travels from Iwate each year for a five-month brewing season, since 1872.
Yoshino Shuzo, founded in 1872 in Ueno, Katsuura, Chiba, keeps alive a tradition in which a Nanbu toji (master brewer) travels every year from Hanamaki, Iwate, to spend five months brewing at the kura. Milling its own rice, the brewery produces a full range under the Koshigoi name, from daiginjo down to unfiltered, unpasteurized junmai genshu. It also turns unharvested local plums into umeshu.
