Kiuchi Shuzo, founded in 1823 in Naka, Ibaraki, carries two hundred years of tradition into an unusually broad portfolio: the sake Kikusakari, the world-famous craft beer Hitachino Nest, Hinomaru Whisky matured in bourbon, sherry and sakura casks, and umeshu besides. The company runs shops, restaurants and hands-on facilities in Japan and abroad; at the kura, tours and a brew-your-own beer workshop are offered, with a tasting bar open daily.
