Since 1818 — 厚木市, Kanagawa
A 200-year-old Atsugi brewery expanding from sake into shochu, beer and craft gin, fed by the pure waters of the Tanzawa mountains.
Founded in 1818 in Nanasawa, Atsugi, Koganei Shuzo has brewed sake for some 200 years using the clear water of the Tanzawa mountains and traditional koji-making and fermentation know-how. Its core sake line, Morimasu, remains the foundation, but the brewery has expanded into shochu, craft beer and craft gin. It also leads the Atsugi-Isehara Sake Rice Project, working to bring more locally grown rice into its brewing.
