Suminoe Shuzo has brewed in the port town of Ishinomaki, Miyagi, since 1845, close to the rich fishing grounds of the Sanriku coast. Its sake is defined by a clean, transparent character suited to the seafood-driven food culture of the region. That careful, understated brewing has made Suminoe one of Tohoku's most respected kura, earning strong praise from sake specialists nationwide.
