Since 1878 — 鹿島市, Saga
A Karatsu brewery that once supplied the Imperial Navy, now hand-crafting its revived Manrei label in small batches.
Oda Shuzo has brewed in Aichi, part of Karatsu in Saga, since 1878, keeping every stage of production by hand and in small volume. During the Second World War, the brewery supplied the Imperial Navy with a sake called Sen'yo — an unusual distinction among Saga's kura. Today its work centers on a revived daiginjo label, Manrei, made with the same small-batch, hands-on approach that has defined the brewery from the start.
