Since 1913 — 矢板市, Tochigi
A small Yaita brewery built on the belief that local sake is local food culture, brewing in small batches through the depths of winter.
Tomikawa Shuzoten is a small sake house in Yaita, Tochigi, that has brewed the labels Chuai and Tomimigawa since 1913. Guided by the idea that 'local sake is local food culture,' the brewery keeps its batches small to hold quality steady, with the coldest months from November to February marking the height of the brewing season. Its style carries on the technique of the itinerant Echigo toji, and since 1998 the brewery has sold sake directly to visitors on-site.
