Since 1893 — 富山市, Toyama
A ginjo specialist in Iwase, the old Kitamae-bune port town, drawing underground water from the Tateyama peaks.
Founded in 1893, Masuizumi is based in Iwase, a Toyama port town that once thrived as a stop on the Kitamae-bune trading route along the Sea of Japan. Its brewing water comes from the Joganji river system, fed by underground flows from the Tateyama range of the Northern Alps. The kura has built a national reputation as a ginjo specialist — sake brewed at low temperature from more highly polished rice for a fragrant, refined result — with its Junmai Daiginjo standing as the flagship and its Junmai suited to everyday drinking.
