The Story of 成政酒造

Founded in 1894 at the foot of Mt. Io, on the border with Ishikawa, Narimasa Shuzo takes its name from the Sengoku-era warlord Sassa Narimasa, who — as legend has it — thrust his spear into the earth seeking water and struck a spring. That water, filtered through the mountain's layered rock, remains the brewery's foundation today, alongside locally grown Gohyakumangoku and Yuzanshiki rice. Holding to the belief that real local sake needs local water, rice and people, Narimasa also founded Japan's first fund-based sake club, the Narimasa Trust Ginjo Society, with over 700 members.
