Sake on Shogawa waters — and Hokuriku's oldest whisky stills next door.
Wakatsuru Shuzo of Tonami, Toyama, brews its sake with subsoil water of the Shogawa River and runs the Saburomaru Distillery — the oldest whisky distillery in the Hokuriku region — on the same grounds. Its Taisho-era kura serves as a cultural events space, and distillery tours run by reservation.
