Since 1915 — 岩出市, Wakayama
A Wakayama brewer founded in 1915 on a wish that sake make people bright and joyful, still aging vintage Daiginjo back to 1988.
Yoshimura Hideo Shoten was founded in 1915 in Iwade, Wakayama, by Hideo Yoshimura, who was born into a silk-reeling family and trained in Nada before starting his own kura on a simple wish: that sake be something anyone can enjoy, and that through it people might become brighter, happier and more joyful. The brewery draws its water from the Kinokawa River, fed by springs from Odaigahara, and continues to brew in a way that respects the natural work of microbes in rice and water. Its range spans the food-focused Kurumazaka line, the everyday Nihonjo, and Kame no Ayumi, a long-aged vintage sake that includes a Daiginjo from as far back as 1988.
Line spans Tokubetsu Junmai, Yamahai Junmai and Junmai Daiginjo, focused on food pairing
