Kudamatsu's only sake brewery, standing by a shrine on the old Sanyo Road for over a century.
Kinbundo Shuzo is the only sake brewery in Kudamatsu, Yamaguchi, standing along the old Sanyo Road at the foot of Hanaoka Hachimangu shrine, with a history spanning more than a century since 1900. The kura still relies on labor-intensive methods like fune shibori (traditional box-press pressing) and holds strong distribution across Yamaguchi prefecture. Its standard sake is milled from Hattannishiki rice to 60%, a slightly dry, 15%-alcohol brew with firm acidity and rich rice flavor.
