An Iwakuni house that treats sake brewing like raising a child — firm and gentle in turn — along the Nishiki River.
Murashige Shuzo brews in Ogo, Iwakuni, along the Nishiki River, working by the credo that sake needs 'water, rice and microbes,' plus the brewer's own breath and care. The house likens its approach to child-rearing — strict at times, gentle at others — to shape its flagship Kinkan Kuromatsu label alongside seasonal limited releases. In March 2020 it renewed its on-site direct-sales shop, where visitors can taste and buy sake alongside local specialty goods.
