A Koshu seasoning maker turned global spirits house, exporting shochu and fruit liqueurs to 25 countries.
San Foods was founded in January 1976 in Koshu, Yamanashi, and today makes both seasonings — mirin and cooking sake — and spirits, including whisky, honkaku shochu and fruit liqueurs, alongside import and wholesale operations. Its guiding principle, 'good products born of good harmony,' has carried the company to HACCP certification in 2002 and FSSC 22000 certification in 2021, and in 2018 the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry named it a 'regional future-leading enterprise.' San Foods now exports to 25 countries worldwide.
